LIBRARY ROOMS & EQUIPMENT
*Room Reservations Note: Library programs take precedence over other reservations. Re-occurring meetings may be asked to move if the room is needed for Library use.Lawrence Room/Quiet Reading Room
These rooms are available for reservation by non-profit groups whose goal is to enrich the community. They are public domain and the group is not guaranteed privacy. They are not open to private parties (i.e. showers, reunions) or where the use may result in financial gain for an individual, company, corporation, or group. Application and approval is required prior to the meeting date(s). Please visit the circulation desk for an application.
The Lawrence Room
This room holds up to 75 people. This is the only meeting room where food is allowed. Those reserving the room may serve drinks and dessert/snack food prepared elsewhere. (Anything more elaborate must be approved by the Library Director.) The kitchenette in the room includes a sink, microwave and refrigerator/freezer. This room is also equipped with a drop down projector screen.
The Quiet Reading Room
This room hold up to 20 people. Food is not allowed in this room. *Tables can be set up at the group's request if necessary. (*The library will assist with setup if possible, but setup is ultimately the responsibility of the group.)
Study Rooms (2)
These rooms are available on a first come, first serve basis, and do not require a written application. Please reserve a room by calling the library or stopping by the circulation desk.
Study Room #1 seats up to 6 people, and contains a small whiteboard and an overhead transparency projector
Study Room #2 seats up to 10 people.
Listening Stations
In one of five listening stations, you may listen to music or a recorded book on CD. Headphones are available at the Information desk. (A library card or Michigan ID is required.) Discs are played by the staff at the circulation desk
Patron Snack Room
You may enjoy a snack or drink while reading a book or magazine in the snack room. Vending machines are available.
Outdoor Courtyard
The landscaped courtyard is a perfect place to have lunch, read a book, stretch your legs, or just view the library sculpture and historic artifacts.
Equipment
Multimedia projector - This can be connected to a DVD or VHS player, as well as a computer. These Users must provide appropriate cables to connect their equipment. Library Director Job Description
Progressive library in Michigan’s great southwest seeks innovative, creative individual with MLS from ALA-accredited program to promote and expand use of the library in the community. The desired candidate will have at least 3 years of library administrative experience, ideally at the director level, with demonstrated knowledge of library business and personnel management, and strong communication skills to work with a staff of 18 FTEs, patrons, volunteers, and community members. Must also have a Level 1 permanent professional certificate from Library of Michigan or be eligible for certification before appointment. The 25,000-sq.-ft. Lincoln Township Public Library is located in Stevensville, Michigan, 90 miles east of Chicago, on the beautiful sunset coast of Lake Michigan (www.lakeshorechamber.org and www.lakeshoreschools.k12.mi.us.) Serves a growing semi-rural population of 22,000 with high per capita circulation rate. Total collection is 88,000. Stable funding. Annual budget over $1,000,000. Demonstrated ability to evaluate and implement new information technology, grant-writing, knowledge of Michigan library law, ability to effectively delegate responsibilities, and residency in service area highly desired. Salary 50,000+ depending on experience. Benefits negotiable. FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY
Join the Friends of the Lincoln Township Public Library!
The next membership year for the Friends of the library begins April 1st, and enrollment forms are in the library. You may also enroll by sending a check to the Friends of the Lincoln Township Public Library. Clearly indicate that the check is for a Friends membership and address it as follows: Friends of the Lincoln Township Public Library, 2099 W. John Beers Rd., Stevensville, MI 49127. You may join at anytime. However, those joining after May 31 AND ATTENDING THE JUNE BOOK SALE will be assessed a $5 nonrefundable processing fee. No fee will be assessed for those joining before May 31 or after the June book sale.
Friends support and enhance the quality of the library's services and resources by providing funds for programs and purchasing materials and furniture. The Friends of the Library organization is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and memberships are tax deductible.
Support the library by joining the Friends! Membership benefits include a quarterly newsletter, and preview of the annual book sale. Additionally, memberships up to $25 may be redeemed for used books at the sale. Join the Friends in enhancing the library.
