Word Processing Computers
The library has two computers exclusively for word processing use, and fourteen others which may be used for either word processing or searching the Internet. The computers feature Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and Powerpoint. You may print from the word processors at a cost of 10¢ per page. You may purchase a blank computer disk at the reference desk for  $1.00; if you bring a disk from home the library may request to scan it for viruses. Some of our computers can read from CD-Roms, and some can use "thumb" or flash drives. None have zip drives at this time.
Public Internet Computers
An abbreviated version of our Internet Policy is below:
  1. Public access to the Internet is available to all users of the Lincoln Township Library, whether they are area residents or not, as an information and educational resource in support of its role as this community’s information source and lifelong learning center
  2. Use of the computers is on a first-come, first served basis. Each user is limited to a maximum of 30 minutes per day of use unless otherwise permitted by the librarian on duty and no one is waiting to use the computers.
  3. Persons 12 and younger may use the two Internet computers in the children's area. Those between the ages of 13 and 17 may use any of the filtered computers in the adult services area, between the circulation desk and the reference desk. Persons 18 and older may request that the filtering be removed from any of the six Internet computers facing the reference desk if they present positive proof of age, such as a driver's license, passport or other similar government isued identification. Minors may use an unfiltered computer only if a parent or legal guardian is seated with the minor.
  4. All people wishing to use the Internet connections in the adult services area must present positive identification and sign a compliance agreement each time they use the Internet. Acceptable identification may include one of the following: passport, military I.D., library card or school I. D. Patrons who wish to use unfiltered computers must present a government issued photo I. D. with proof of age (such as a drivers license, state ID card, passport, etc.) each time they sign up to use the Internet.
  5. The library is not able to offer E-mail accounts to users at this time although patrons may use the library's Internet computers to access web based email accounts or ones which allow remote access.
  6. Printing is limited to printing completed within the allotted daily use. All printing from word processing, spreadsheet or desktop publishing programs will be 10¢ per page. Four pages from the Internet may be printed free. Additional pages from the Internet are 10¢ per page. Downloading to a floppy disk, flash/thumb drive or CD is permitted. You may purchase both floppies and CDs at the reference desk for  $1.00.  Downloading to the hard drive is not permitted.
