With the renovations, the teens have gained a new space to hang out after school, meet with friends, study, and attend programs. So, what can teens look forward to when they visit Lincoln Township Public Library?
Teens in grades 7th – 12th can volunteer at the library. They assist with various tasks like helping out at programs, building Berrien Books for Babies boxes, and helping our patrons sign up for the Summer Reading Program each year. We have monthly meetings year-round to discuss what kinds of programs we should host, what books to order for our collection, and help make book displays. You also get credit hours for attending/participating in monthly meetings and submitting content for LTPL’s teen newsletter, Between the Shelves.
Between the Shelves
Between the Shelves is our new LTPL newsletter, made just for teens! It features upcoming library events, links to digital resources, and content created by fellow teens. Teens can submit media reviews, artwork, essays, and other creative endeavors to share with others. You can pick up a copy of the newsletter in the teen section. They are also available for pick up at Lakeshore Middle School and Lakeshore High School.
Programs for Teens
In addition to volunteering, we have programs for Teens to enjoy. A few of our regular/upcoming programs include:
● Teen Loot Boxes – Sign up each month during the school year to receive a fun activity and extra swag.
● Teen Hangout – Our monthly after school where you can destress and hang out with friends. On May 7th, we will have an interactive movie afternoon watching Beetlejuice (1988).
● Teen Escape Competition – Compete with a team of friends in a timed tabletop escape room competition. Click here for further details and to register.
