March is Women’s History Month, and every year it’s a great time for all of us to reflect on both the famous women who have made contributions to our society in so many ways and the women in our own lives who have done a lot for us and meant so much to us over the years.
There are many events throughout American history in which women have played an important role. On March 25 at 6:30 p.m., LTPL will be hosting local author Samantha Wilcoxson for a great presentation on the role of women in the American Revolution. But until then, perhaps you’d like to find some books in our collection about other important women throughout history.
Here are five that you might want to look for next time you’re in the library:
- But Will You Love Me Tomorrow?: An Oral History of the ‘60s Girl Groups by Laura Flam
- Ladies of Liberty: The Women Who Shaped Our Nation by Cokie Roberts
- Rise of the Rocket Girls: The Women Who Propelled Us, From Missiles to the Moon to Mars by Nathalia Holt
- The Sisterhood: The Secret History of Women in the CIA by Liza Mundy
- Valiant Women: The Extraordinary American Servicewomen Who Helped Win World War II by Lena Andrews
